Texas Flooding: Dozens Dead, 27 Girls Missing After Summer Camp Disaster

Torrential rains in Texas have caused devastating flooding, resulting in a tragic loss of life and leaving dozens unaccounted for. At least 50 people have died, including 15 children, with more rain expected.

The flooding in Kerr County has been particularly severe, claiming the lives of at least 43 people, 15 of whom were children. At least eight additional fatalities have been reported in nearby counties.

Adding to the tragedy, 27 girls remain unaccounted for after a riverside summer camp was swept away by the rapidly rising Guadalupe River. The river reportedly rose 26 feet in just 45 minutes.
